There are three reasons why I love pumpkins: skin, diet and decorating.
First: Skin
Being the Radiant Skin Coach I recommend pumpkin for your skin. When it is applied it acts like an enzyme. Enzymes dissolve your dead skin. This process is very safe and can be used by all skin types, even those with sensitive skin. I call this process “Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man” – eating away all the pac-dots or pellets.
Beta carotene is a form of Vitamin A. With beta-carotene/Vitamin A in pumpkin, your skin cell production is increased and your collage is stimulated. Our skin may look younger and smoother. Who doesn’t want that?
Second: Diet
When you eat pumpkin it not only tastes great it is also beneficial for you. Pumpkin is extremely high in antioxidants, beta-carotene, Vitamin C and folate. These ingredients are important to a healthy diet.
Three ways that I enjoy pumpkins as food:
- Pumpkin bars – low in sugar and gluten
- Pumpkin soup – dairy free
- Roasted pumpkin seeds
When you eat the seeds you increase your zinc and omega 3 fatty acids. You then add more healthy ingredients to your diet.
Third: Decorating
The shape and bright orange color are very emblematic of the Autumn season to me. I decorate my home with many pumpkins of all different shapes and sizes.
Remember pumpkins are great addition to your skin and diet – not just for decorating!
